What's the first step?

The first step is getting together and looking at what you've got. We'll walk your space and discuss the possibilities. Tell Michael what you're hoping to achieve in your yard. Maybe you have a thousand ideas and need some guidance. Maybe you know exactly what you want. Maybe you have no idea at all! Whatever your situation, we'll work together to come up with some great ideas for your yard.

How does the process work?

After we walk your space and get a good idea of what you want, Michael will create a custom design for your yard, starting with a preliminary draft. The second meeting will be a sit-down where you and Michael review a full-size color print of the design and make any changes. Michael will make the changes and present you with a final design that can be handed off to any installer for implementation.

What's included?

Consultation: We will walk your yard and discuss ideas and possibilities. If you decide to go with New Ground, Michael will take measurements and get started on your design.

Preliminary Design: Michael will walk you through a 24" x 36" color print of your design. What do you like? More importantly, what edits do you want to make? We'll make the changes and get it right. 

Final Design: You will get a 24" x 36" color print of the design as well as a digital copy in PDF form.

If any major changes to the design are requested at that point, an hourly rate will be charged.

Does New Ground install the landscape?

No, New Ground is design only, but we can recommend trusted companies for installation.

Does New Ground design drought-tolerant landscapes?

Absolutely! Here in California low-water gardening (also known as xeriscaping) is becoming the norm. There are many beautiful options for water-wise yards, and you can rest easy knowing you are contributing to a healthy ecosystem!

Is there a consultation fee?

Yes. The initial consultation is $80.00*, which will be credited toward your design fee if you choose to go with New Ground. 

 

*Cost is $80.00 for a Front OR Backyard consultation. Cost for Front AND Backyard is $140.00. Additional travel fee may be added for residents outside service area (Approximately 30 miles road distance from the City of Sacramento).

Does New Ground offer yard maintenance?

No, New Ground does not do landscape maintenance.
